Odisha and West Bengal under Red Alert as Cyclone Yaas is gradually intensifying and expected to cause landfall, heavy rainfall, and huge destruction. The upcoming 12 hours are very crucial for the coastal areas of India as Cyclone is heading with a greater speed of 9kmph which can reach up to 165kmph.
The IMD has warned locals and disaster response teams about the intensity of Cyclone and asked them to follow all precautionary measures.

These 4 districts are under red alert whereas Cuttack, Jajpur, Puri, Khorda, and Mayurbhanj are issued an orange alert. But the intensity of rainfall is likely to stronger in these areas as well. Thus, officials are asking locals to shift to shelter homes and vacate the coastal areas.

Cyclone Yaas is already on the way and the weather of West Bengal is its indication. It will head northward in Odisha tomorrow i.e. 26th May somewhere around noon but with greater intensity.

No trains and ships will continue operation till the cyclone passes away. The states and NDRF teams are all set for the unexpected Cyclone. However, oxygen generation plants are running.
Apart from Odisha and Bengal, Bihar is also under alert for the next few days due to Cyclone Yaas.
