Punjab National Bank (PNB) has brought a golden opportunity for young people aspiring to pursue a career in the banking sector. The bank has issued an official notification for the recruitment of a total of 5,138 apprentice positions in various branches across the country under the Apprentices Act 1961. This will be a one-year training program, providing selected candidates with experience in the bank's operations and a monthly stipend.

Important Dates and Application Process
According to the notification issued by PNB, the online application process for these positions will begin on February 8, 2026. Interested and eligible candidates can fill the form by February 24, 2026, by visiting the bank's official website, pnb.bank.in. The bank aims to conduct the online written examination in the first week of March 2026.
Educational Qualifications and Age Limit
To apply for these positions, candidates must be graduates in any discipline from a recognized university. Regarding the age limit, applicants must be between 20 and 28 years old as of January 1, 2026. As per government regulations, candidates from reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC) will be given relaxation in the upper age limit as per the rules. Candidates must also have knowledge of the local language of the state they are applying for.
How much will the stipend be?
Selected candidates will receive a monthly stipend based on their posting. Trainees posted in rural, semi-urban, and urban branches will receive ₹12,300 per month, while those posted in metro city branches will receive ₹15,000 per month.
Application Fee
General, OBC, and EWS (male) candidates will have to pay ₹944. General, OBC, and EWS (female) candidates will have to pay ₹708. SC, ST, and PwBD candidates will have to pay ₹236 as application fee.
Selection Process and Exam Pattern
Selection forPNB Apprentices will be based on an online written examination followed by a local language test. The written examination will carry a total of 100 marks and will include questions on general/financial awareness, English, quantitative and reasoning aptitude, as well as computer knowledge. Candidates who qualify the written examination will be called for document verification and a medical examination.
