BSA, a manufacturer of classic-looking motorcycles, has introduced its first adventure motorcycle, the Thunderbolt ADV. It was unveiled at the ongoing EICMA 2025 show in Italy. Following the Gold Star 650, Bantam 350, and Scrambler 650, the BSA Thunderbolt is the company's first adventure tourer (ADV). Let's explore its features in detail.
BSA Thunderbolt ADV Design
The Thunderbolt name holds a special place in BSA's history, as the last bike to roll out of the company's Birmingham plant in 1972 was also named Thunderbolt. Nearly 53 years later, BSA is returning to the market with the same name.

The Thunderbolt's design is thoroughly modern, yet still has a classic touch. The bike resembles the Yezdi Adventure, but it focuses on both touring and off-roading.
BSA Thunderbolt ADV Features
The BSA Thunderbolt features several modern features, including twin asymmetrical headlights, a front beak and a long adjustable windscreen, a yellow paint scheme, knuckle guards, a sculpted fuel tank, LED twin-pod taillights, a luggage rack, and an upswept exhaust. It also features a new semi-fairing design, which provides better wind protection during riding.
BSA Thunderbolt ADV Engine

The BSA Thunderbolt is powered by the same 334cc DOHC, 4-valve, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine as the Yezdi Adventure (2025). This engine produces 29.2 bhp and 29.6 Nm of torque. It is paired with a 6-speed gearbox. The bike has three ABS modes: Road, Rain, and Off-Road. It also has Bluetooth connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation.
Suspension and Braking Setup
The Thunderbolt features 21-inch front and 17-inch rear wire-spoke wheels shod with dual-use tires. Suspension is handled by USD front forks (200 mm travel) and a rear monoshock (180 mm travel). Braking is handled by a single disc setup on both wheels and dual-channel ABS. The bike's fuel tank capacity is 15.5 liters, and its dry weight is reported to be 185 kg.
