American electronics company Beats on Tuesday launched Powerbeats Pro 2 in India. The earbuds are designed keeping athletes and fitness freaks in mind. The flagship earbuds come with features like active heart-rate tracking.

The Powerbeats Pro 2 earphones have dual-element dynamic diaphragm transducers, which claim high-quality audio. They also support adaptive ANC and transparency mode as well as adaptive EQ features. They also come with spatial audio and dynamic head tracking technology.
The Powerbeats Pro 2 has three microphones on each earphone, including a dedicated voice microphone. It is equipped with optical sensors that aid in in-ear detection and heart-rate monitoring. Also, it has an accelerometer and gyroscope.
The heart rate monitoring feature given in the Powerbeats Pro 2 is said to be special for athletes, which will help them track real-time performance. The company says that it uses LED optical sensors, which pulse more than 100 times per second and measure blood flow.
This data can be instantly shared with any compatible fitness app. At launch, it will work with apps like Runna, Nike Run Club, Open, Ladder, Slopes, and YaoYao.
Beats provides five ear tips ranging from XS to XL in the box. Each earphone weighs 8.7 grams, while the case weighs 69 grams. The earphones have an IPX4 rating, indicating splash resistance.
