Yamaha India has launched the 2024 Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Edition models as part of its ‘The Call of the Blue’ brand campaign. This includes the R15M and MT-15 version 2.0. Both the bikes have been introduced with new graphics designs inspired by MotoGP. It has MotoGP livery on the tank shroud, fuel tank, and side panel.
Engine Performance
155cc single-cylinder engine No mechanical changes have been made in both bikes. It has a 155cc fuel-injected engine, which generates power of 18.1hp at 10000 RPM and torque of 14.2Nm at 7500 RPM with 6-speed gearbox.
A dedicated traction control system has been provided in these. This system reduces the possibility of wheel spin. The quick shifter facilitates smooth gear shifting without rolling back on the throttle during manual clutch operation or upshifting. Apart from this, the assist and slipper clutch helps in reducing lever pulling.
Features
Dual-channel ABS and traction control system Talking about the features, both R15M and MT-15 version 2.0 have dual-channel ABS, traction control system, slip and assist clutch, variable valve actuation (VVA) and Bluetooth connectivity as standard. The R15M is a more track-focused bike, with sportier ergonomics and a clip-on handlebar and rear set footpegs.
It also gets additional features like a quick-shifter, fully digital color TFT screen, turn-by-turn navigation, volume control, upgraded switchgear, and LED light for the license plate. The street-naked MT-15 version 2.0 features a straighter handlebar and a more comfortable riding posture than the R15M and an LCD digital instrument cluster.
Design R15M And MT15
Both bikes are based on Deltabox frames. Both the bikes are built on a Deltabox frame. For comfort riding, they have been provided with a telescopic inverted fork at the front and linked-type mono-shock suspension at the rear., At the same time, 282 mm disc brakes are available at the front and 220 mm disc brakes at the rear. There is also dual-channel ABS with it.
R15M And MT15 Price
The 2024 Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Edition R15M is priced at Rs 1,98,800 (ex-showroom, Delhi), and the MT-15 version 2.0 is priced at Rs 1,73,400 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The R15M competes with the Suzuki Gixxer SF and Hero Karizma XMR in India. While the MT-15 rivals the Bajaj Pulsar NS200, TVS Apache RTR 200 4V in India. Limited editions of both bikes will be available for sale only at the Blue Square showroom.
