Tennis sensation, Sania Mirza celebrates her 33rd birthday today and on her special day let’s get to know how she, single-handedly put India on the Tennis map of the world!
From a small-town Muslim family to being the biggest Tennis sensation of the country, her journey in so is nothing short of an inspiring and full of awe roller-coaster.

1. She started playing tennis at the age of six and her first-ever coach was CK Bhupati, Mahesh Bhupati’s father. The same Mahesh Bhupati with whom she went on to win Australian Open 2009 Mixed Doubles!

2. Behind every successful child, there’s a father who sacrificed his career and dreams to nourish that of his kid’s. Sania Mirza’s father almost gave up his career in journalism when he took over her coaching when she was 12 years old.
