Fans of MS Dhoni got a big shock today as Thala decided to leave his position as Captain of Chennai Super Kings. All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja will take his place from now onwards. But, fans are not happy with Dhoni leaving so early. They want to know why Dhoni quit the captaincy of CSK.
The real reason behind his decision has not been confirmed by Dhoni himself but the CEO of Chennai Super Kings forwarded what must be in his mind.

According to Kasi Viswanathan, Dhoni thought this is the right time to hand over this important position to one who can truly stand on the expectation. Jadeja, who has also been a major player for the team, deserves CSK captaincy and he would be the best person to lead the team.
There is no doubt over Dhoni’s choice as whatever he does or has done till now is always best for the team. The team respects his decision, said Vishwanathan.
However, it did not happen overnight. The decision was pending since IPL 2021 and Jadeja’s name was already in the list. Dhoni and CSK team firmly believe the potential of Jadeja. This is why Dhoni quit CSK captaincy.

Suresh Raina, who has also served as CSK captain, is thrilled and excited to see Jadeja in new role. He has congratulated the new captain of CSK via Twitter “It’s an exciting phase and I’m sure you will live up to all the expectations and love.”
With this, Dhoni’s journey as a captain ended in IPL where he successfully supported and lead team to victory. Chennai Super Kings have won IPL titles four times under Dhoni’s captaincy and fans expect this will continue under the leadership of Jadeja too. Mahendra Singh Dhoni has also given up the test captaincy in 2014.
