Shark Tank Judge Ashneer did not take this huge decision all of a sudden. It is a result of high drama where an employee from Kotak bank was abused on a phone call by Mr. Grover. After this, an investigation against him was conducted by company’s board. His wife was also found alleged of using funds inappropriately that made her resign before Ashneer.

Co-founder of BharatPe filed an arbitration plea as a response against the investigation that he said to be illegal. The plea was filed in the International Arbitration Centre of Singapore. He also went absent from the company for 2 months soon after the allegations.

In a post earlier, Ashneer said that the bank was trying to get more money from him by releasing a fake audio clip of him. However, he deleted that post later. A legal notice was also sent to the bank for not providing enough funds during Nykaa IPO that came to light after Ashneer and Kotak’s employee conversation was leaked online.

All this caused troubles for Ashneer and his family. Even company board’s actions made him felt lonely in this battle which he described as a ‘Battle of Egos.’ As a result, on 1st March 2022 Ashneer decided to resign.

He felt all the investors are not truly connected and devoted in growth of BharatPe and all they did was connected through Zoom Meetings rather than in reality. Ashneer even mentioned names of his investors directly in the resignation letter saying’ you’ve forgotten what real businesses look like.”

“ I am being vilified and treated in the most disgraceful manner.”
