Whatsapp Delays New Privacy Policy Amid Confusion

Since last 10 days, Whatsapp has been in the highlights for facing allegation of stealing user data and sharing the same with third-party apps and it’s parent company. The facebook owned application has came up with a decision of delaying the recent update policy.

Now, the users won’t face any account deletion on the failure to update at least for 3 months. News came from the official blog post of Whatsapp. It says,

” We are now moving back the date on which people will be asked to review and accept the terms. No one will have their account suspended or deleted on February 8.”

In addition to this, blog post also says we are working on clearance of misinformation spread regarding privacy policy and collection of user data. This confusion needs to be clear and thus they have delayed the process of update.

The post further says, “We’ll then go to people gradually to review the policy at their own pace before new business options are available on May 15.”

Since whatsapp has released the notification regarding new policy, users have been shifting towards alternatives like Signal and Telegram. A sudden hike in their downloads have been seen within 10 days.

If the ambiguity on the policy continues or the claims came out to be true then it’s won’t be wrong to say that soon Signal & Telegram will replace Whatsapp.
