PCOD: In today’s time, many types of problems are arising due to busy life and bad lifestyle. People are not getting time to pay attention to their own health. One of these is PCOD i.e. Poly Cystic Ovarian Disease.

The problem of PCOD has become very common in women and girls. According to the National Institute of Health and Research, about 10 percent of the female population in our country suffers from the problem of PCOD. Let us know, how does PCOD occur?

In such a situation, hair starts growing on the face and other parts of the patient.

It is very important to check any disease before treating it. If you get symptoms or signs of PCOD, then you can get the following tests done:-

  • Medical history – In the medical history, the doctor asks questions related to the disease and finds out about its history. Such as questions related to health and periods, questions related to vaginal bleeding, etc. Overall, there can be any questions related to the symptoms of PCOD.
  • Body test – In this, everything from BP to BMI and waist size can be checked so that fat can be detected. It is also found out on which part of the body hair has grown rapidly.
  • Pelvic test – In pelvic examination, lumps and swelling in the ovaries are detected.
  • Blood test – Androgen level and blood glucose level are detected through blood test.
  • Sonogram – We can also call a sonogram as vaginal ultrasound. In this, sound waves are used to find out whether there is a lump in the ovary or not. Also, the thickness of the uterus is also checked.

What is the treatment of PCOD?

Cure of PCOD is not completely possible. Its symptoms can be reduced through medicines and surgery. Apart from this, you can also control the symptoms of PCOD by changing your lifestyle i.e. home remedies. Below are some tips, by adopting which you can cure it:-

Include fruits and vegetables in your diet. This reduces the sugar level in the body, due to which insulin works better and hormones remain stable.

Consume at least 30 grams of fiber throughout the day. This keeps your blood sugar balanced.

  • Consume plenty of protein.
  • Eat green leafy vegetables.
  • Eat small meals instead of heavy meals.
  • Keep your weight under control.
  • Eat healthy snacks in the evening.
  • Exercise regularly for at least 15 minutes.
  • Include yoga and meditation in your daily routine.
  • Avoid soft drinks.
  • Do not consume processed food.
  • Avoid eating cakes, cookies, chocolates, sweets etc.
  • Avoid consuming refined flour and semolina.
