No Schools Till June 10 And Lockdown Extend In Hotspots

West Bengal: The cases of Covid-19 in West Bengal is more than 100. As of April 11, 95 active cases are reported in the state. The rising number of cases is increasing the concern of parents. To relieve this, CM Mamata Banerjee announced the closing of schools till June 10.

In a press conference on Saturday, she said about the sealing of covid-19 hotspots, including those in Kolkata. Since the last three weeks, Kolkata is witnessing more cases of covid-19 than other states.

Hotspots To Be Sealed In West Bengal

There are around 9-10 hotspots in the state, and significant areas like Howrah and Kolkata has one hotspot each. Earlier, March 31 was the time till schools and colleges were closed. But now they will remain close for some more time after seeing the rise in covid-19 cases.

Although the summer vacations in West Bengal schools begin from June 10 -June 15. But this year, the vacations will be adjusted, said CM Mamata Banerjee. Also, she asked teachers to continue with the online classes. CBSE and CISCE boards should also follow the same till lockdown.

Besides this, she also said that necessary steps regarding mid-day meal provisions should be taken. There could be a further extension of lockdown after April 14. Seeing this, West Bengal CM made all the decisions.

Moreover, few states such as Maharashtra, Odisha, Karnataka, and Punjab have extended the lockdown. Now, these states will continue the lockdown for the whole month of April. Not only these states, but Telangana, and UP are extending the lockdown after April 14.

India has more than 6000 active cases, with 242 deaths across the country. Seeing this continuous spike, various state governments are making necessary decisions under the guidance of PM Modi.
