West Bengal Extends Weekly Lockdown Till This Date, Relaxation On Bakra Eid

The two-day lockdown in West Bengal has been extended to continue throughout the August. According to West Bengal CM Mamta Bannerjee, the weekly lockdown will be continued till August 31.

The state will undergo complete lockdown twice a week said the Bengal CM.

Days of complete lockdown in West Bengal:

  • July 29, Wednesday
  • August 2, Sunday
  • August 5, Wednesday
  • August 8, Saturday
  • August 9, Sunday
  • August 16, Sunday
  • August 17, Monday
  • August 23, Sunday
  • August 24, Monday

The state has exempted the lockdown on Bakra Eid and Independence Day. However complete cooperation is expected from the people.

Since Bakra Eid is a religious festival so it has been exempted.

“We will not do any lockdown this week because of Bakr Eid, a religious festival. We want the minorities to cooperate and avoid any gatherings. I request them all to celebrate indoors,” Mamta Banerjee said.
