A 64 year old was fourth generation scion of Kirloskar Group established in 1888.

Pioneering in the field of Automobile Sector Vikram was known in the industry as a “Passionate Engineer”.

He earned a mechanical engineering degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in US.

He is famously known for bringing Japanese Toyota company to India.

He established auto manufacturing industry in Karnataka for which state government awarded him with “Suvarna Karnataka” award.

He was a president of Bangalore’s Central Manufacturing Institute.

In 2013 – 15 he served as the president of the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers.

He was also the president at the  Confederation of Indian Industry during 2019-2020.

Due to his contribution in the metallurgical industries, he was awarded with the Indian Institue of Metals (IIM) JRD Tata Award.

He was an avid golfer, tennis player and swimming enthusiast,also passionate about climate change.
