India initiates its yearlong presidency at G20 Summit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi represented India

G20 was established back in 1999 to help Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors

Group of 20 Forum comprises 19 countries and the European Union 

These members represent 85% of the Global GDP and 75% of the Global Trade

India’s theme for the Presidency is “One Earth, One Family, One Future"

100 monuments including UNESCO World Heritage sites to be lit up for 7 days to praise recognition 

More than 200 meetings will be held in India across 55 ocations

Modi said India’s Presidency will be “ambitious” and “action-oriented

Modi appreciated the thoughtful ideas of Buddha and Mahatma Gandhi at the G20 Leaders Summit

India will be hosting the G-20 leaders` summit on September 9 and 10 in 2023 under its presidency
