As per the latest cricket news, the first ever Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) semi-finals will be played at Drummoyne Oval in Sydney which is scheduled for January 19.

As reported on Thursday, Sydney Thunder has the top spot and only second-ranked Sydney Sixers can displace them, ensuring that the hosting rights of the semi-finals doubleheader have been given to Sydney, Cricket Australia.

In the tournament, the highest-ranked qualifier will earn the right to host the final on January 26, which means that despite the teams who finish third and fourth win their semi-final, the final match will be played at the home of the third-ranked team.

As per the latest cricket news, International commitments have hit this season because players from India, England and New Zealand have to return home before the end of the tournament. As a result, the next season of WBBL will go to a separate schedule from October to December and before the start of the Big Bash League.
