Indian team’s cricketer star Virat Kohli retired from Test cricket on Monday. Kohli announced his retirement through his official social media handles. Virat Kohli scored 9230 runs in 123 Tests with the help of 30 centuries and 31 half-centuries. He made his Test debut in 2011.

Virat wrote in his Instagram post that it has been 14 years since he wore the baggy blue for the first time in Test cricket. To be honest, he never imagined what journey this format would take him on. It tested him, shaped him and taught him lessons that he will carry with him for a lifetime.
He further wrote – Playing in white clothes is a very personal experience. Quiet hard work, long days, small moments that no one sees, but which stay with you forever. It is not easy to step away from this format, but this is the right time. He has given his all in it and it has given him more than expected.

Virat Kohli made his Test debut for India in June 2011 and remained an important batsman for Team India for 14 years. During this, he scored 9230 runs in 210 innings of 129 Test matches at an average of 46.85. He did the great feat of scoring 30 centuries and 31 centuries in Tests. 254 not out is his highest score in Tests. Virat Kohli has already retired from T20I. He said goodbye to the T20 International format after winning the T20 World Cup 2024 title last year. Virat will now be seen playing only ODI cricket with Rohit. Both will try to win the ODI World Cup in the year 2027.

Now he can be tried at this position in Tests as well.
