Senior Inspector Vinayak Gaikwad from Kondhwa region said:

“Apart from morning walkers, we also caught hold of people who had ventured out of their homes early in the morning to buy essentials,”

Kondhwa is one of those areas in Pune that have been termed as Containment zones. The people of this region are only allowed to step out to buy essentials.

“As per norms, Kondhwa residents are only supposed to go out to buy essentials between 10 am and 12 noon,”

Police decided to punish them in a different way. Since they were all out for morning walk the police decided to give them a dose of exercise. They were made to stand in a row maintaining social distance and performed several exercises.
