USPS celebrates 50th anniversary of NASA’s first moon landing with special stamps

NASA’s Apollo 11 moon mission made a successful effort to land on the Moon surface, 50 years ago.  As per the latest technology news, History was on cards when there were astronauts like Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, and Michael Collins at the time of July 20, 1969.

And now the United States Postal Service (USPS) has launched a special stamp to honor the special occasion.

It was revealed by USPS – the two stamp designs celebrating the landmark. The stamps are designed by USPS art director Antonio Alcalá and both contain the inscription “1969 First Moon Landing”.

One stamp includes a  photograph of Apollo 11 astronaut Aldrin in his spacesuit on Moon’s surface, taken by his colleague astronaut Armstrong.

The second stamp features the landing site of the lunar module in the Sea of Tranquility, taken in 2010 whose picture credit goes to Alabama-based beginner astronomer Gregory Revera.

Further details and release date for the first day of issue ceremony are yet to be announced.
