Amit Shah was born on 22 October 1964 in Mumbai to a successful businessman Anil Chandra Shah. His full name is Amit Bhai Anil Chandra Shah. He studied his schooling in Mehsana, Gujarat and graduated himself in B.Sc biochemistry from CU Shah Science College.

From his college days, Shah was an active member of RSS’s student wing ABVP. In 1984, he secured the position of president in ABVP. Then he started his political career with BJP in 1986 and the right next year he was appointed as an activist of BJP’s youth wing Bhartiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM).

In 1995, Amit Shah was elected as MLA from the Sarkhej Constituency in Gujarat and retain his position 4 times. Thereafter, he was appointed as the vice president of the Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA) in 2009. Then he became the President of BJP in 2014 and came to be known as Modern Day Chanakya.

In 2019, Shah won the election of Lok Sabha from Gandhinagar Constituency by a big margin of 5,57,014 votes and was appointed as a Home Minister of India.

1. Before joining BJP, Amit Shah worked as a stockbroker in his father’s company.
