Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Ruler of Dubai and Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE has recently renamed the Al Minhad areas as “Hind City” on January 29.
The city is spread over an area of 83.9km and is divided into four parts that will be renamed: Hind 1, Hind 2, Hind 3, and Hind 4.
Reason Behind Relabeling Hind City
Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has renamed the Al Minhad area of the city as “Hind City”. Although the reason behind the relabeling of the city is not specific. However, He has renamed the place after his wife, Sheikha Hind bin Maktoum bin Juma. Hind is a common Arabic female name. Announcement of renaming by Dubai Media Office.

Hind City is linked to other parts of Dubai through several key roads, including the Emirates Road, Dubai–Al Ain Road, and Jebel Ali–Lehbab Road. The renaming of the area was done in 2010 by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who is the vice president, prime minister, and minister of defense of the United Arab Emirates as well as the ruler of Dubai. The city is connected to other parts of Dubai via important roadways like Emirates Road, Dubai–Al Ain Road, and Jebel Ali–Lehbab Road.
