Throwbacks From RK Studio's Holi Celebrations: A Lost Tradition Of Bollywood Industry

Bollywood is not famous just for the lavish birthday parties but also for the festive celebrations and the most happening among all was the RK studio’s Holi celebration. Nobody in the industry has ever celebrated this color of festivals like the Kapoor family did during the 90s.

They began a tradition where all the celebs whether its big names like Amitabh Bachchan or film directors, producers, and co-stars were invited every year. And it was more than just a celebration; it was a chance to strengthen their bonds. Forgetting all the animosity and grudges, actors and actress used to groove with one other. That period has given endless memorable moments and etched the fun moments deeper in everyone’s heart.

These throwback videos and photos are proof that how the Kapoor family made everyone lost in the festivity with their unique style of celebration.

Holi Celebration

Sharing the moments of RK Studio’s Holi parties, actor Raja Murad once said, “Holy means Bhang and delicious food,” There was a color-filled tank in the studio escaping which was next to impossible.

Unforgettable Moments

One of the memorable moments of the celebration was with Amitabh Bachchan who was invited to the party. It was the first time when Amitabh gave his voice to the famous Holi song “Rang Barse” and the since then it is an evergreen song for the Holi celebration.

It was everyone’s dream to attend the most-happening parties of Bollywood. Superstars like Shri Devi, Rakesh Roshan, Shatrughan Sinha, Prem Nath, Anil Kapoor, and many more were the popular faces of the parties of RK studio.

However, Dev Anand never attended the party because he didn’t like the festival of colors. Respecting his choice, none of the celebrities had ever forced him for it.

There have been several parties in the industry but none was so exciting, enjoyable, memorable, and vibrant like these. Unfortunately, the tradition came to end after the death of Raj Kapoor and since then everyone is missing both the Kapoor brothers and the way they brought the industry together.

Sharing the throwback pics in 2015, Late actor Rishi Kapoor disclosed the real reason for discontinuing the tradition.

In 2020 and 2021, the Kapoor family has again lost two more gems- Rishi and Rajiv Kapoor.
