The baby’s name comes from her grandmother and mother of Priyanka Chopra i.e. MadhuMalati. So, it’s no surprise that it would be an obvious reason. Well, there’s one more reason, Priyanka wanted to reflect her baby’s name mix of both cultures.

The meaning of Priyanka Chopra’s daughter’s name reflects the same. Malti word is taken from the Sanskrit which originally means moonlight or fragrant flower whereas Marie is an English word and its name of Jesus Christ’s mother.

However, an official announcement by the couple is still pending. Malti Marie Chopra Jonas was born on January 15 in California via surrogacy. Priyanka expressed her desire to have a baby a few weeks ago Malti’s birth.
The couple was overjoyed by the news and also expressed that surrogacy did not reduce their love for kids. In an interview, PeeCee also said, “There is no belief like this is my child and I will shape everything.”
