T20 World Cup Update: Chahal May Replace Varun Considering His Knees Injury

Varun Chakravarthy has been a game-changer for the KKR in IPL 2021 but his selection in T20 World Cup Squad has worried everyone. The right-arm spinner can pull off runs and wickets both, however, he is not in good medical condition.

BCCI Is Worried About Varun’s Health Ahead Of T20 World Cupvarun-chakravarthy

BCCI is keeping an eye on him but is not very much sure whether he would recover soon or not. “ Varun’s knees are not in the greatest condition. He is in pain and trusts me had it not been in a T20 World Cup, perhaps even Indian Team Management wouldn’t have taken the risk of playing him” said BCCI.

As of now, both KKR and BCCI are focusing on managing his pain so that he can continue his game in IPL 2021. He is on painkillers for most of the time and restricted to move sideways which may exaggerate his pain.

Varun, who is a domestic player for the Tamil Nadu team, was selected last year in KKR. So far, he has grabbed 15 wickets in 13 matches and has been a key player for the team. If Varun’s doggy knees show no improvement before T20 World Cup, BCCI would not have any other option to include Yuzvendra Chahal.

Chahal who is performing well in the ongoing IPL season was not selected rather BCCI decided to take Varun.
