This is the third time when Chhattisgarh will receive the recognition it previously won in 2019 and 2020. State’s Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel will collect the award on behalf of every citizen who has contributed to it.

The second good news for citizens is that around 61 urban cities will get the award on Swachh Amrit Mohatsav for their efforts.

Women have been a major part of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan in the state. More than 9000 women are working as cleanliness ‘didis’ who regularly collect waste from households and dispose of them scientifically. Before disposal, the dry and wet waste is separated earlier but now the waste is collected in a separate form for smooth disposal. Around 1,600 tonnes of waste including wet and dry is collected on a daily basis from door-to-door.
