Professional wrestler Sunil Kumar made India proud by breaking the record of 27 years and acquiring the country Gold in the Greco-Roman category in AWC( Asian Wrestling championships).

After taking the Gold home, Kumar said,
“I am feeling happy to have earned India’s first gold medal today. Literally I have worked hard on my ground techniques, and it feels good to have done better than my last year’s performance.”
“I did not panic. Even the coach asked me to remain calm. I was determined not to miss out on Gold this time around, and my determination paid off,” he further added.

On Tuesday, the wrestler overpowered his opponent Azat Salidinov by 5-0 in the 87 kg summit and became the first Indian to bring Gold under this category.
On the other side, wrestler Arjun Halakurki bagged a bronze medal in the 55kg summit after beating wrestler Donghyeok. Arjun won the game 7-4.
