Sumit Nagpal Becomes The First Asian To Win The ATP Challenger Tournament!

Some are born great, some achieve greatness, some have greatness thrust upon them! A few months earlier, a 22-Year old boy from Haryana changed the fate of Tennis in India, forever, when he defeated the ‘God Of Tennis’ Roger Federer, in the first set!

The Maiden Voyage of success, that began from that very moment hasn’t stopped till now and Sumit Nagal has once again made us beam with pride.
He defeated Argentina’s Facundo Bagnis ( 6-4, 6-2 in an hour and 37 minutes ) to become the first Asian to win the ATP Challenger Tournament in Buenos Aires.

It was Sumitโ€™s second Challenger title of his career, following the victory in the Bengaluru Challenger event in 2017.

Started the year at rank 350, he is now at his careers best ranking of 135! This jump alone shows his dedication and hard work.

None other than Roger Federer himself attested the fact that “He’s going to have a very solid career”

And here he is, proving every bit of him right!

We do comprehend the fact that this is not much compared to the achievements of other international players, but let’s also not forget that this is not Cricket. And what Sumit is doing might prove as a big milestone for the coming sports enthusiasts!

We are overjoyed at his marvellous feat and wish him a hearty congrats!
