Legacy ATM companies provide solutions that enable ATCs to communicate with aircraft and pilots, achieving their goal for manned aviation. However, for UAS, a more comprehensive, self-governing, and efficient air traffic management system is necessary to communicate with UAS and suggest safety measures for flights.

Skye UTM is designed to meet the needs of UAS operations, with a platform that can track more than 255 parameters of UAS movements and store them into its ‘Blackbox’. This technical description of the entire flight is accompanied by a 3-Dimensional view of the UAS airspace, as well as servers that display real-time UAS movements, airspace status, and verified paths. Skye UTM also provides real-time, low-latency infrastructure that allows for the prediction of a UAS’s flight path for the next 50 seconds, ensuring the safe and secure navigation of the airspace.

Skye UTM boasts of being the only UAS traffic management platform in India that is designed to offer drone operators reliable navigation, risk evaluation, connectivity, and traffic management. To date, Skye UTM has supported more than 300 BVLOS drone flights.

At CES 2023, Ankit Kumar, CEO of Skye Air Mobility, expressed his enthusiasm in showcasing the India-developed Skye UTM. He declared that the platform will be available for commercial use in India and the UAE in mid-January and in the US and other markets in mid-2023. Kumar remarked that Skye UTM is well-positioned to provide safer skies for all. This includes airspace awareness and ground risk assessment with tunnel-based navigation for improved security. With the rising demand for UAS across applications, the necessity for secure skies has become essential.
