Simple Energy has launched the updated generation 1.5 model of its flagship electric scooter ‘Simple One’ in India. Its starting ex-showroom price is Rs 1.66 lakh. The company claims that the updated scooter will get an IDC-certified range of 248km on a full charge, which is more than the previous generation model (range of 212km).
Simple One Gen 1.5 Price
The Simple One Gen 1.5 is now available at Simple Energy dealerships. Additionally, Simple One Gen 1 owners can upgrade via software update. The price of Simple One Gen 1.5 is more than Rs 1.5 lakh (ex-showroom, Bengaluru). Besides, it also has a 750W charger.
Simple Energy now has 10 stores in Bengaluru, Goa, Pune, Vijayawada, Hyderabad, Vizag and Kochi. It plans to expand into 23 states with 150 new stores and 200 service centers by FY26.
Simple One Gen 1.5 Design
The company has not made any changes in the design and platform of Simple One. It has telescopic forks and monoshock suspension at the rear. The electric scooter has 12-inch alloy wheels with 90-section tubeless tyres. For braking, it has CBS (Combined Braking System) with 200mm front disc and 190mm rear disc brake. It also has regenerative braking for advanced safety. The weight of the scooter is around 134 kg and its seat height is 775mm.
The scooter has been introduced with a single variant and 6 color options. This includes Namma Red, Brazen Black, Grace White, Azure Blue, Light X and Brazen X. There is also 30-litre storage under the seat for storing luggage.
Simple One Gen 1.5 Performance
The scooter has a mid-drive permanent magnetic electric motor, which generates power of 8.5 kW and torque of 72nm. Simple Energy claims that the Simple One electric scooter can accelerate from 0 to 40 kmph in just 2.7 seconds. Its top speed is 105kmph.
To power the motor in the e-scooter, a 5.0kWh battery pack has been provided. The company claims that on full charge, the scooter gives a range of 248 km (IDC certified), which is 36km more than the current model. The range increase comes from changes to the battery algorithm. Along with this, many software updates have also been made in the scooter.
Simple One Gen 1.5 Features
The Simple One has a large 7-inch TFT instrument console with all-LED lighting setup. Along with this, features like OTA (over the air) updates, geo fencing, vehicle tracking, ride statistics, navigation, updated ride modes, regenerative braking, customizable display theme, tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), USB charging port, auto brightness are available in it.
