Sidharth Malhotra remembered his initial meeting with Shah Rukh Khan on the set of My Name is Khan, where he was working as an assistant director.
The actor said he was tongue-tied, but Shah Rukh made him feel relaxed.

Sidharth Malhotra worked as Assistant Director on Karan’s My Name Is Khan
Prior to his acting debut in Karan Johar’s Student Of The Year (2012) alongside Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt, Sidharth Malhotra worked as an assistant director on Karan’s My Name Is Khan (2010).

He and Varun were given the chance to perform by the production company before they were launched.
The actor remembered, in a new interview, the conversations he shared with Shah Rukh Khan on the set of My Name Is Khan.
The veteran actor even gave him a few pointers since he was aware of Sidharth’s ambition to be an actor.
When 21-year-old Sidharth first arrived in Mumbai, his parents were uncertain that anyone would cast him in a movie.

He did secure a role, but the film never got made. He abandoned the production when it changed directors, conveying his lack of confidence in the project.
To gain experience, he then opted to become an assistant director, reasoning that he would be able to learn more on a real set than in film school.

Siddhart Met SRK in Los Angeles for First Time
Sidharth expressed his joy of meeting his idol Shah Rukh Khan on the first day of the shoot in Los Angeles.
He prepared for the clap beforehand so he wouldn’t be nervous, and he noted that Khan was very warm and welcoming, likely due to his upbringing.
He was so in awe that he couldn’t even speak.

Shah Rukh gave Sidharth some advice
At a later shooting location, Shah Rukh gave Sidharth some advice. Sidharth recalled, “It was just the two of us there, on a road.
He started speaking to me, suggestively pointing out that I should first check if there was anything I could use as a prop.
I couldn’t believe it! He was so kind and thoughtful, understanding that I wanted to be an actor.

Sidharth’s latest movie, Mission Majnu starring Rashmika Mandanna, was launched on Netflix on January 20.
Siddhart to appear in ‘Yodha’
In July 2023, he will be appearing in the action-packed Yodha alongside Disha Patani and Raashii Khanna.
