Shoaib Malik Announces His Retirement From ODI's

Shoaib Malik, veteran Pakistani cricketer announces his retirement from the ODI’s and left everybody stunned. The cricketer played 278 ODI’s, 35 test matches, 111 T20I’s. Shoaib Malik made his debut in the 20th century and was an active cricketer to take part in the ODI’s.

The cricketer shares a heartwarming post on twitter thanking all his teammates and fans for the love and support.

The Pakistani cricketers also gave him a guard of honour in the cricket ground after Pakistan beat Bangladesh by 97 runs at the Lord’s.

He was emotional and would miss cricket as he said in his interview-

“I am sad to be leaving a format I once loved but I am happy that I will now get to spend more time with my family. This will also allow me to focus on T20s,”

However, Shoaib had pre-planned his retirement and said this in an interview after beating Bangladesh with 97 runs.

“I am retiring from ODI cricket. I had made this decision a few years ago, that I would retire after Pakistan’s last World Cup match,”.

Sania Mirza also shared a lovely message appreciating Shoaib Malik’s long career in cricket.


Although this year was not great for Shoaib Malik in the World Cup but has proved his ability and worth in earlier matches.
