‘Sherlock Holmes 3’ has been pushed back a year and now it will hit the big screen on December 21, 2021. Originally in last May, Warner Bros. had announced that ‘Sherlock Holmes 3’ would release on Christmas Day of 2020 with Robert Downey Jr. playing his role as the so-called British detective while Jude Law will essay the role of his sidekick, Dr. Watson.
Susan Downey, Joel Silver, and Lionel Wigram are the producers of ‘Sherlock Holmes 3,’ while Chris Brancato has written the script. And as of now, no director is attached to the film.
After the second film, ‘Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows,’ ‘Sherlock Holmes 3’ will open a decade which starred Jared Harris and Noomi Rapace, and collected USD 545.4 million at the worldwide box office.
The original ‘Sherlock Holmes,’ starred Rachel McAdams, was released in 2009 and had a collection of USD 524 million globally. Guy Ritchie was the director of the first two parts of the film.
On Monday, the announcement was made by Warner Bros. who said that an untitled event film would go into the same Christmas 2020 place. Especially, James Cameron’s ‘Avatar 2’ is set to release on December 18, 2020, in the queue of ‘Sing 2’ on Christmas Day.
As per the latest Hollywood news, ‘Sherlock Holmes 3’ will release five days after Cameron’s ‘Avatar 3’ with the same day releasing Sony’s ‘Hotel Transylvania 4.’
