The advertisement of a jewelry brand Tanishq was the talk of the town. Many people debated on the content calling out “Hindutva bigots”. After the debate rose and people demanded Tanishq to take the ad down, Also #BoycottTanishq started trending on twitter. Tanishq finally took down the video and apologized for showing such controversial content.
Some agreed while some remained firm on the sensitivity of the issue showcased in the video.
Shashi Tharoor took it to his twitter account and said:
“So Hindutva bigots have called for a boycott of @TanishqJewelry for highlighting Hindu-Muslim unity through this beautiful ad. If Hindu-Muslim “ekatvam” irks them so much, why don’t they boycott the longest surviving symbol of Hindu-Muslim unity in the world — India?”

Tanishq faced huge outrage of people and trolled the ad on twitter. Some also said that they would refrain from visiting the Tanishq store and even buying anything from there.
