How often are Mondays in Sawan (Sawan Somvar 2023)

This year the month of Sawan is starting on the 4th of July and the first Monday of Sawan is falling on the 10th of July. This time eight Mondays are going to fall in Sawan. After 10, Mondays are falling on the 17th of July, 24th and 31st of July, 7th of August, 14th of August, 21st and 28th of August(Sawan Somvar 2023).

How to worship during Sawan Somvar Vrat (Sawan Somvar Puja Vidhi)

Worship Lord Shiva by offering Akshat, white, flowers, sandalwood, hemp, datura, cow’s milk, incense, lamp, panchamrit, supari and belpatra, etc. during the fast of Sawan Monday. Now anoint Bhole Nath with Panchamrit, as well as chant the mantra ‘Om Namah Shivay’. Along with Bholenath, worship Maa Parvati and Ganesha as well.

Dietary Rules

Food grains or salt should not be consumed during Sawan Somvar Vrat. You can eat other fruits along with fruits. Milk curd and things made from it can be eaten. Dry fruits can be eaten with fruits.

Do not eat any kind of grains or things like garlic-onion. Stay away from meat-alcohol and make sattvic fruit food for yourself.

If you want to maintain energy during Monday’s fast, then you can make kheer with makhana and milk. To make this, boil the milk well and roast the makhana in it and cook it by adding it to the milk. Now add sugar, cardamom powder, and dry fruits. Cool it by putting it in the fridge and then eating it as a fruit(Sawan Somvar 2023).
