San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Ricky Pearsall was shot during the attempted robbery in Union Square San Francisco. He is in serious but stable condition. San Francisco 49ers was shot by the 17-year-old suspect who was later held by the San Francisco Police.
San Francisco Police Department said that Ricky Pearsall was walking on Geary and Grant streets a block away from Union Square when the 17-year-old robber attacked him.
It is really disheartening news for the San Francisco 49ers after listening to the incident.

San Francisco 49ers Ricky Pearsall was signing an autograph at an event center earlier in the afternoon and had headed to Union Square. Then the 17-year-old robber tried to attack him, and a physical altercation happened. During the fight, the suspect attempted to fire a shot that injured both Pearsall and the suspect.
San Francisco Police Chief William Scott said that the “Gunfire from the suspect’s gun struck both Mr. Pearsall and the subject.”
The suspect is recognized, a resident Tracy of California was taken into custody after attempting to run away.
Both the suspect and player suffered injuries and they were transported to the hospital.
According to the police, Pearsall was not targeted but the indication is it was on the place robbery attempt. It appears that the robber is acting alone and only single found at the place.

San Francisco Police Chief Scott said “extremely shocked and saddened”
“This kind of violence has no place in our city and will never be tolerated. My heart goes out to Mr. Pearsall and his family and I wish him a speedy recovery”.
He posted on his Twitter account and commented -“Thankfully, our hard-working officers made a swift arrest in this case and we will do everything within our power to ensure justice is served.”

San Francisco Mayor London Breed said at the New Conference “A terrible and rare incident in Union Square. I look forward to seeing him recover and get back on the field.”
