Engine power and gearbox
The Royal Enfield Interceptor Bear 650 motorcycle has a 648 cc parallel-twin engine. This engine generates 47 bhp of power at 7,150 rpm and 57 Nm of peak torque at 5,150 rpm, which is 5 Nm more than the INT 650.
It is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The bike also gets a new two-in-one exhaust system, which helps in reducing the weight of the bike. The kerb weight of the Bear 650 is 216 kg, which is 2 kg less than the Interceptor.
How is the look and design of the Royal Enfield Interceptor Bear 650
The new Royal Enfield Interceptor Bear 650 motorcycle takes inspiration from the scramblers of the 1960s and 1970s. This bike looks like a more stripped-down version of the INT 650, in which only the essentials have been kept.
While some parts of the bike have been strengthened to ride on rough roads. It has a new paint scheme, scrambler-style seat and a number board on the side panel. The bike has also been upgraded to all-LED lighting. And it has 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wire-spoke wheels. Which have dual-purpose MRF Nylorex tires.
Braking and Suspension
The Royal Enfield Interceptor Bear 650 motorcycle features upgraded hardware including 43mm Showa USD front forks with 130mm travel. While the rear gets new twin shock absorbers with 115mm travel. The rest of the cycle parts remain the same, but the front brake disc is larger at 320mm compared to the Interceptor 650. The bike also gets switchable dual-channel ABS.
Features
The seat height of the motorcycle has been raised to 830mm, which is the highest on any RE 650 offering. The ground clearance of the bike is 184mm. A full-color TFT screen with an in-built navigation system has been introduced, which has been taken from the new Himalayan.
Delivery Details
The new Royal Enfield Interceptor Bear 650 has no direct rivals. And it brings a different charm to the middleweight category. The motorcycle will be available across all Royal Enfield dealerships and deliveries will begin in a few days. The Bear 650 is also one of the major showcases by Royal Enfield at EICMA this year along with the new Flying Flea C6, Himalayan Rally and other motorcycles.
