Rishabh Pant, young wicketkeeper and batsman will fly to England. Due to Shikhar Dhawan’s injury, Pant will be kept as a cover for him in the upcoming matches.
“Rishabh is just being called here in advance as standby so that he can acclimatise. If Dhawan can’t continue, we’ll seek an official go-ahead from ICC for replacement and he (Rishabh) can immediately join the team,” sources in the know said.

When Will Shikhar Dhawan Return To The Pitch
The injured batsman will continue to be a part of the 15-member squad as of now. The reports confirmed hairline fracture in Shikhar Dhawan’s thumb. Doctors have prescribed a tentative healing time. If he feels better he can join in the matches till then if required Pant will replace him.

Pant will take KL Rahul’s slot in the World Cup matches whereas KL Rahul will be opening matches with Rohit Sharma. We hope a speedy recovery for Shikhar Dhawan.
