Renault has introduced its C-segment SUV Renault Boreal globally. Boreal will be sold in 71 markets outside Europe, including Brazil, Latin America, Turkey and other countries. The Boreal is named after the wind god ‘Boreas’ described in Greek mythology. It is offered as a 5-seater SUV with a large boot space of 586 liters. Let’s know about its other features in detail.
Exterior design of Renault Boreal
It has a length of 4,556 mm, width of 1,841 mm and height of 1,650 mm. Its wheelbase is 2,702 mm. Its front fascia is similar to the Renault Niagara concept. Its hood and front bumper have scattered LED lights like the prototype. It also has a new 2D diamond-shaped backlit Renault logo. Viewed from the side, it looks like a Duster. It has heavy body cladding and 19-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. It has a large integrated spoiler at the rear and horizontal tail-lights.
Interior and Features of Renault Boreal
The interior uses soft-touch materials. It has two 10-inch screens for infotainment and entertainment, including Renault’s OpenR Link multimedia system with Google built-in in the touch screen and OTA updates. A Harman Kardon sound system is available for audio. Apart from all this, powered front seats with massage function for the driver, dual-zone AC and panoramic sunroof have been provided.
Safety Features of Renault Boreal
It has 24 features with Level 2 ADAS, including adaptive autopilot, active lane centering and autonomous emergency braking, as well as a 360-degree camera setup and front and rear parking sensors.
Engine of Renault Boreal
It has a 1.3-litre turbocharged engine, which can come in petrol or flex-fuel form. This engine has been developed in collaboration with Mercedes. Its engine generates 163 hp power and 270 Nm torque with flex-fuel, while the petrol version generates 138 hp / 156 hp power and 240 Nm torque. Its engine is equipped with a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. It also has four driver modes Eco, Comfort, Sport and MySense.
