Under this deal, Reliance Defence will build a big and modern factory in Watad Industrial Area in Ratnagiri, Maharashtra. This factory will make Vulcano 155 mm Precision Guided Munition System. This special type of weapon has a very accurate target. Technical help will be provided by Diehl Defense in this project. This company is famous worldwide for weapons technology.

‘Make in India’ campaign will also get a boost – In a statement issued by Anil Ambani on this deal, it was said that this agreement will increase the country’s defense production capacity and will give Reliance Defense a special place in global defense supplies. 60 percent of the weapons made in the country through this project will be local, through which ‘Make in India’ will be promoted.

₹5,000 Crore Investment in Maharashtra – Let us tell you that Reliance Defense has a plan to invest Rs 5,000 crore in Ratnagiri in the coming five years. The company will raise 30 percent of the money from its income and 70 percent through debt.

Production Set to Start in 18 Months – Production will start from the factory in the next 18 months. Earlier in the month of May, Reliance Defence had signed an agreement with another German company Rheinmetall AG.

₹10,000 Crore Revenue Target in Defence Exports – This deal was to make explosives and propellants for mid and large size weapons. Reliance Defence’s target is to become one of the top three private defence export companies in the country in the next 12 to 24 months. The company is planning a 5 to 10 year long agreement with companies like Deal and Rheinmetall. This can provide an opportunity to earn Rs 10,000 crore.
