Ratan Tata

Industrialist Ratan Tata loved animals very much. So much so that he always kept the doors of Mumbai’s prestigious Taj Hotel open for stray animals. A few days after Ratan Tata’s death, some information about his will has now come to light. The most interesting thing in this is that he has written about always taking care of his pet ‘Tito’ (German Shepherd dog). For this, he used the word “unlimited care” in English.

Ratan Tata’s total assets are said to be around Rs 10 thousand crores. According to the will, this property will be divided among many people, including his close ones as well as the house staff.

Apart from this, Ratan Tata’s executive assistant Shantanu Naidu’s name is also in the will. In the will, Ratan Tata gave up his stake in Naidu’s company ‘Goodfellows’. He also waived off the loan taken by Naidu during his studies abroad.

Ratan Tata’s properties include his 2000 square feet bungalow in Alibaug, a two-storey house in Juhu, fixed deposits worth more than Rs 350 crore. Apart from this, his biggest asset is his 0.83 percent stake in Tata Sons.

He loved animals immensely

Ratan Tata

86-year-old Ratan Tata died on October 9 at Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital. He was ill for the last few days. You can understand the kind of love Ratan Tata had for dogs from an anecdote. In the year 2018, Ratan Tata received an invitation from Buckingham Palace. The then Prince Charles (now, King Charles) wanted to give him a lifetime achievement award for his philanthropic efforts. But Tata canceled his trip at the last moment, as one of his two dogs was seriously ill.

His close friend Suhail Seth recalled this incident. He told that he tried a lot to contact Tata that day. But the phone was not being answered. When finally he was able to talk, Tata said,

“Tango and Tito – my dogs – one of them has become very ill. I cannot leave him and come.”

Suhail tried to convince his friend. But he did not agree. When King Charles was told why Ratan Tata was not coming to the event, he too could not stop himself from praising him.
