The power of social media cannot be questioned. It can change your life instantly and make you viral sensation overnight. Ranaghat’s station singer Ranu Mondal’s story is no less than any “Rags To Riches” story.
After everyone noticed her talent of singing, Bollywood composer and singer Himesh Reshammiya signed her to sing few songs in her movie. People loved her voice and she the 59-year old is doing great in the industry.
Looking at her inspirational life, independent filmmaker Hrishikesh Mondal has decided to make her biopic. The biopic will reveal many parts of her life which everyone is curious about.
The filmmaker said-
“People are curious to know about Ranu Mondal’s life. She became a singing sensation overnight thanks to social media, so people are very interested to know more about her. Also, the film will highlight the power of social media in the present times, which has turned roadside singer Ranu into a star.”
According to the reports, the film is titled ‘Platform Singer Ranu Mondal’.
To play Ranu Mondal’s part in the movie National award-winning Bengali actress Sudipta Chakraborty has been approaching.

She confirmed the news and said-
Yes, I have been offered the film. However, I am yet to receive a script. I will decide if I want to play the character only after reading the script.”
Singer-composer Sandhu (cactus band) has been signed for the music in the movie. The movie is supposed to be released in February 2020.
