Shahrukh Khan’s recent film Pathaan is still breaking records at the Indian box. In only eight days, the film has crossed the 700 Crore mark and made its position in the highest-grossing Indian movies of all time.
Without any doubt, it brought back the lost respect of Bollywood. The audience and various experts across the world are praising Pathaan nowadays.
But still, the movie has a lot of haters who want to downgrade it at any cost. And the Indian director Ram Gopal Varma has recently joined the club.
In his latest interview with Connect Dil Se, Ram Gopal Verma talked about Pathaan’s success. He compared him with south Indian superstars including Yash, Allu Arjun, Rishabh Shetty, etc.

“500 Crore Isn’t A Big Deal,” Said Ram Gopal Varma
In the interview, when Ram Gopal Varma was asked about his opinion on Pathaan’s success, he said “See if an unknown guy called Yash can do Rs 500 crores business with KGF Chapter 2, then Shah Rukh Khan doing 500 crores business is not a big deal.”

After that, he pointed out SRK’s stardom, saying “Shah Rukh is a much bigger name than Yash. But if Yash can also do that business. If Kantara or a Pushpa can become a big hit. So, I doubt the stardom will be the same as before.”
Besides this, Ram Gopal Varma shared a post on Twitter against Bollywood. He wrote, “Theatre collections will never be great again in times of OTT, SRK is a fading star, Bollywood can never make a COMMERCIAL BLOCKBUSTER like the south masala directors, and It will take years to break the day 1 collection of KGF 2.”
