Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Rape In India’ Remark Fetches Turmoil In Parliament! Opposition Demands Apology

Oh Boy, not again!

Is it only me or the ‘verbal diarrhoea’ of Indian politicians crossed all limits this year?

What happened now? Well, Rahul Gandhi has once again managed to get himself in trouble by his mindless blabber. *Nothing new*

So apparently, while addressing a rally in Jharkhand, Rahul Gandhi got a bit carried away and said something that he must be regretting now.
Come on now, why are you behaving like a ‘classic millennial’?

Anyway, taking a jibe at PM Modi and his policies, this is what he said:

“Narendra Modi had said ‘Make in India’ but nowadays wherever you look, it is ‘Rape in India’. In Uttar Pradesh, Narendra Modi’s MLA raped a woman, then she met with an accident but Narendra Modi did not utter a word.
Narendra Modi says ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ but he never told from whom should daughters be saved. They should be saved from BJP’s MLA.”

Woah, slow down already! But boy, he does have a point! Although I would not ignore the fact that he needs a good speechwriter!

As expected, his statement brought a huge turmoil and the parliament erupted like a long-dormant volcano struck by lightning.

Union Minister Smriti Irani said:

“This is the first time in history that a leader is giving a clarion call that Indian women should be raped. Is this Rahul Gandhi’s message to the people of the country? He should be punished. Not all men are rapists.
This is an insult to India… Rahul Gandhi is touching 50, and doesn’t realise that such a statement seems like an invitation to rape in India”

Now calm down lady, you’re unnecessarily blowing it out of proportion. We both know he didn’t mean it that way.

BJP MPs even raised slogans against him and the Parliament was adjourned till noon.

Well, we all know what the need of the hour is, Rahul Gandhi needs a decent speech-writer, Smriti Irani needs to calm down and you need to go back to work (or study).

Tragedy of the day: no one is doing what is needed!
