As per the latest Bollywood news, Bollywood actor Darshan Kumaar has joined the cast of the upcoming biopic titled ‘PM Narendra Modi’.
Darshan will be playing one of the main characters in the biopic. Indian film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh took it to his Twitter account to share the news.
The Indian film critic, Taran Adarsh wrote, “Actor Darshan Kumaar joins the cast of #PMNarendraModi… Will be enacting one of the main characters in the biopic… Shoot begins in 10 days… Darshan’s third film with director Omung Kumar [#MaryKom, #Sarbjit]… Produced by Suresh Oberoi and Sandip Ssingh.”
Vivek Oberoi will be portraying the role of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the biopic. A week back only, the makers of the biopic shared the first look poster of the film featuring Vivek as PM Modi.
In Mumbai, the first poster of the film was launched at an event by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
The biopic will be directed by Omung Kumar, who is also the director of some critically acclaimed biopic films including ‘Mary Kom’ and ‘Sarbjit’. The producer of the film is Sandip Ssingh. After ‘Mary Kom’ and ‘Sarbjit’, this will be Darshan’s third collaboration with director Omung.
According to Taran, the shooting of the film will resume in 10 days. As per the sources, the will be shot across Gujarat, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand, among other locations in the country, over a period of a few months.
The film will go over the journey of Modi from his modest beginnings to his time as Chief Minister and finally his milestone election as the Prime Minister.
As per various media reports, the character of PM Modi was earlier being played by Paresh Rawal, who refused to do the film due to some unknown reasons.
Vivek was last seen in Krrish 3 which was in 2013 and has done commendable work in films like ‘Omkara’ (2006), ‘Company’ (2002) and ‘Saathiya’ (2002).
As we all know that biopics are gaining huge popularity and some major biographical films like ‘Thackeray’, ‘Manikarnika’ and ‘Saare Jahan Se Accha’ are releasing in 2019. This biopic is based on the PM of the country, is surely going to be a treat to watch!
