PM Modi’s Mother Abused During A BBC Radio Show: Netizens Demand To Boycott BBC

BBC is again in highlights due to a recent episode of BBC Asian Network’s Big Debate’ radio show. In the show, one of the callers used offensive comments targetting PM Modi’s mother. Soon the audio clip of the user went viral on social media.

Thereafter, many Twitter users and BJP Leaders flooded Twitter with Tweets demanding #Boycott BBC and #Ban BBC for hurting their sentiments. Notably, the matter of discussion on the show focused on the racism against Sikhs and Indians residing in the UK. Eventually, the debate extended to the ongoing farmer’s protest in Delhi.

A caller, who was identified as ‘Simon’, started yelling and used disrespect and vulgar statements against PM Narendra Modi’s mother Heeraben Modi. Although the host of the show immediately distracted the attention of users by changing the topic of conversation to the original one. But, it was too late as a large audience had already listened to it.

The users once again started coming together for their favorite pastime – a call for Ban and Boycott. The thread has received 113K Tweets so far, becoming a new trending topic in India.
