Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to inaugurate Purvanchal Expressway in Sultanpur, Uttar Pradesh today. The inauguration will be held at 1:30 pm.
PM Modi and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will land on Purvanchal Expressway from the Indian Air Force’s C-130 super Hercules aircraft. The airshow will be organized by Indian Air Force on the 3.2km long airstrip constructed on the expressway.
During the event, Chief Minister Yogi Aditynath will also be present.
About New Purvanchal Expressway
Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath recently said that the Purvanchal expressway will be the backbone of the economy of the state’s eastern region.
The estimated cost of the expressway is approx. Rs 22,500 crore. It is over 340km long and will reduce travel time between Lucknow to Gaziabad from 6 hours to 3.5 hours.
It also includes 7 major bridges, 7 railway overbridges, 114 minor bridges, and 271 underpasses on the highway that covers 9 districts- Lucknow, Barabamki, Amethi, Ayodhya, Sultanpur, Ambedkar Nagar, Azamgarh, Mau, and Ghaziabad.
The expressway is from Chandsarai village in Lucknow to Haidaria village located on NH31 in Ghaziabad (18km from UP Bihar Border).
According to the official statement, the six-lane Purvanchal Expressway can be expanded to eight-lane in the future.
