History: Swami Vivekananda reached Kanyakumari
Very few people know that in 1892, when Swami Vivekananda focused on this rock of Kanyakumari, this meditation focused the attention of the whole world on India. This was a period when Swami Vivekananda was assimilating the vastness of spirituality and Hinduism in life philosophy. He had chosen a long journey to do penance, in which he was going to visit the whole of India for four years and the journey was to be concluded in Kanyakumari.
Swami ji meditated for three days and three nights
When Swami Vivekananda reached Kanyakumari in 1892, he got a big purpose from the silent rocks in the waves of the sea. He decided that he would swim from the beach and go to the rock in the midst of water, where spirituality will connect his mind to God. Swami Vivekananda, Swami Vivekananda was not before reaching this rock. He was earlier known as Narendranath Dutt, who was born in Calcutta. But after reaching Kanyakumari, he did strong penance and focused on today’s rock memorial for three days and three nights.

I am proud, I am from the Hindu religion who gave shelter to the people of Parsi religion and is still helping them. He further said that just as the rivers from different places, through different paths finally join the sea, in the same way a person chooses different paths from his will. These paths may look different, but they all go to God.

After this speech, Chicago’s Dharma was applause for him for two consecutive minutes in the Parliament. The great thing is that the inspiration and knowledge of this speech came out of the same meditation that he did in Kanyakumari. Swami Vivekananda did penance here on 25, 26, 27 December 1892. Here he had a vision of developed India. It is said that here she realized the divine concept of Mother India. Former President APJ Abdul Kalam also meditated here for two hours. Where Swami ji meditated, that memorial is also named after Swami Vivekananda. In such a situation, it can be easily understood how big the importance of meditating on this place.

On 31 May 1893, Swami Vivekananda went to Chicago (America) to deliver a speech in the World Religion Parliament and influenced the whole world. Exactly 131 years later, in 2024, PM Modi will also meditate till 30, 31 May and 1 June. This is the date and place, which is unnaturally coincidental. According to the website of Vivekananda Vedanta Society of Chicago, Swami Vivekananda left for the US on 31 May 1893 after meditating in Kanyakumari on 31 May 1893. He wore saffron turban and Baga. In the first American newspaper report on Swami Vivekananda published on 11 September 1893, he was referred to as ‘Brahmin Hindu’ learned ‘smooth faces’.
