Panchayat Season 3 Review: Phulera Gaon has returned on Prime Video with a story wrapped in simplicity but with lively characters. There is an atmosphere of Lok Sabha elections in the country and Panchayat elections have come in Phulera also. An election is an election, be it of the country or of the Gram Panchayat, everyone fights to win and follows the path that leads to victory.
If there is no path, it is created. Sometimes by providing benefits of government schemes and sometimes through some controversy. Politics is currently in full swing in Phulera. Election season decisions are often mired in controversy. Opponents looking for an opportunity fuel these controversies. Disputes have divided Phulera into east and west.
At one end of the political chessboard are the current Panchayat officials and at the other end are those seeking to become head and the local MLA supporting them. Panchayat Secretary is stuck in between, who wants to run away from Phulera by taking admission in IIM, but the question is, will Phulera leave him?
The third season of TVF series Panchayat is mainly based on the check-mate game regarding Pradhani elections, which introduces different shades of characters through the shocking developments in the final episode and also confirms the fourth season.
What is the story of the third season of Panchayat?
The story ground of the Panchayat is Phulera village of Fakauli development block of Ballia district. After the insistence of powerful MLA Chandra Kishore Singh, Secretary Abhishek Tripathi has been transferred, but Pradhan and other colleagues do not allow the new Secretary to join, so that Abhishek can return to Phulera. Meanwhile, in an old murder case, the MLA is jailed and loses his MLA.
As soon as the MLA goes to jail, Abhishek’s transfer gets canceled and he reaches the village. But, with books for preparation of MBA entrance exam. The list of beneficiaries under Pradhan Mantri Garib Awas Yojana is released in the village, which gets stuck in controversy.
Bhushan Sharma, who is dreaming of making his wife the head, takes advantage of this opportunity. After being released on bail, he goes to the MLA with a proposal for a peace agreement. Bhushan’s politics becomes successful to a great extent, but then something happens that he has to face defeat.
How is the screenplay of Panchayat Season 3 Review?
The story of the third season is also spread across eight episodes of thirty to forty minutes duration. Barring a few incidents, the show’s writing has the same undercurrent of humor as before, which arises from circumstances. Humor also comes from the characters’ reactions.
It starts with the arrival of the new secretary. The way village head’s husband Brij Bhushan Dubey and assistant Vikas stop her from joining, those scenes are funny. While the Prime Minister makes the old Ammaji’s longing for a house under the Poor Housing Scheme and the pretense of living separately from her grandson laughable, it is also emotional. The way Bhushan Sharma makes the distribution of houses an issue is interesting.
However, the events used to develop the conflict in the story seem a bit light. A strong MLA losing the MLA after being jailed for killing and eating a dog or a pigeon being killed by the MLA during a peace agreement.
To humiliate the MLA, the people of Phulera village bought his horse. There is humor in these incidents, but the way all these incidents come together and lead to a shocking climax, a glimpse of Mirzapur is felt in Phulera. The game of checkmate with Baahubali MLA turns violent in the final episode.
Attitudes of characters changing with time in Panchayat Season 3
The departure from the last two seasons is visible in the writing this time too. The biggest beauty of this season is also the character graph. The consistency and growth of the characters impresses. Viewers who have been watching the show since the first season can clearly feel the change in the personality of all the lead characters.
Village head Manju Devi is no longer just a stomp, she is in a decisive role and is able to put pressure on her husband to get her decisions accepted. Secretary Abhishek Tripathi is no longer bitten by Phulera, but has started feeling like his own. He is ready to do anything for Phulera and the Pradhan Mandali.
After the martyrdom of his son, loneliness has driven Prahlad Pandey into alcoholism. He also refuses to contest the elections, but when he learns that Assistant Vikas is going to become a father, he finds a purpose to live. Phulera’s son-in-law Ganesh i.e. Asif Khan has returned for the horse track. The character of Ganesh has also become more mature than before.
The role of Bhushan Sharma and Binod has increased this time. The same consistency of the characters is visible in the acting also. The bonding between all these lead characters and each other brings smiles on faces. The hesitant love that blossoms between the secretary and Rinki tickles us. Amidst the pressure of marriage, Rinki’s preparation for MBA, influenced by the secretary, brings them closer.
Neena Gupta in the role of village head Manju Devi, Raghubir Yadav in the role of head Brij Bhushan Dubey, Jitendra Kumar in the role of Panchayat Secretary Abhishek Tripathi, Faisal Malik in the role of Deputy Head Prahlad Pandey, Chandan Roy in the role of Assistant Vikas, Bhushan in the role In Durgesh Kumar, all the actors captivate with their acting. But, this time the acting of Pankaj Jha, who became the Bahubali MLA, leaves the most impact. The way the third season ends will increase the wait for the fourth season.
