Great display of bowling and outstanding effort in the field helped Bangladesh defeat Pakistan by 37 runs in the Asia Cup 2018 encounter at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. With this emphatic win, Bangladesh entered the final of the Asia Cup 2018 and will now clash against the defending champions, India on Friday. Defending a small target, Bangladesh restricted Pakistan to 202/9 in their 50 overs. Chasing a target of 240 runs, Pakistan got off to not a good start as they lost three early wickets within 5 overs only. Although Shoaib Malik and Imam-ul-Haq pace Pakistan’s inning (67-run partnership) to some level, after the early collapse Bangladesh skipper Mashrafe Mortaza took a brilliant catch of Malik to be in the hunt.
Imam was the only Pakistani batsman who was standing strong at one end but on the other end, wickets were continuously falling at regular intervals. And finally, Imam was also crumbled under pressure getting stumped off Mahmudullah for 83 runs.

Mustafizur Rahman was the pillar for Bangladesh team as he was the most impressive bowler, finishing his spell with 4/43. Along with Rehman, Mehidy Hasan grabbed two wickets while Rubel Hossain, Mahmudullah and Soumya Sarkar shared one wicket each.
Mustafizur Rahman was adjudged “Man of the Match”.
