Australia was held to 140 in the first innings in Perth by Pakistan’s excellent bowling, which was led by four pacers who caused the hosts to never get going. With players like Glenn Maxwell, Marcus Stoinis, and Steve Smith all playing in this series, Australia had a strong team despite playing a different lineup in preparation for the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

First-Ever Victory In 22 Years

After losing both of their previous series in Australia, 5-0 in 2009 and 4-1 in 2016, this was Pakistan’s first series victory in 22 years. It’s interesting to note that, in another low-scoring series, Pakistan overcame a 1-0 deficit to win 2-1 on that occasion, with Waqar Younis leading the visiting squad.

Great Comeback in 2024

After a challenging first half of 2024, in which they lost a Test series to Bangladesh, were humiliated during a Test series tour of Australia, and struggled in the T20 World Cup, Pakistan has recovered. The team will feel very confident going into the home ICC Champions Trophy in early 2025 after defeating England in a Test series and then winning this match in Australia.

Defeated Australia In Their Home Series

Pakistan has appeared to be playing well in all three of the series games. However, they lost by a slim margin in the opening game at the MCG, where Pat Cummins led his team home with the bat. At the Adelaide Oval, however, the visitors recovered well to defeat Australia by nine wickets after bowling them out for 163.

The two teams will now prepare for a three-match T20 series, beginning at the Gabba in Brisbane on 14th November, before heading to the SCG in Sydney and finally the Bellerive Oval in Hobart to round out the series.
