Vani Jayaram, a famous playback singer passed away on February 4. She was found dead at her home in Chennai. Police are still investigating the cause of death. Soon after the announcement of her death, the film industry and her fans were left in despair.
Vani Jayaram: Singer Since Birth
Vani Jayaram was born on 30 September in 1945 in Vellore, Tamil Nadu. She was renowned as a professional playback singer in the South Indian film industry. Her family supported her to become a singer as she was born into a family of classically trained musicians.
At just the age of 8, Vani gave her first performance at All India Radio in Madras. Vani was also employed with the State Bank of India, Madras, and was later transferred to the Hyderabad branch in 1967.
